An appeal for two specific witnesses to come forward after a woman was raped in Amersham.

Between 10.00am and 10.40am on Sunday (8 September) a woman in her 30s was reportedly attacked at an address in Hill Avenue.

The victim sustained a nose injury during the attack.

She then fled the address and two female members of the public assisted her.

A 28-year-old man from Amersham has been arrested on suspicion of rape and assault occasioning actual bodily harm and has been released under investigation.

A 29-year-old man from Leeds was also arrested on suspicion of rape and has been released under investigation.

Specialist Investigator Kay Humphreys said: “The victim was at an address in Hill Avenue and after the incident she left the property and spoke to two members of the public, along with a local business owner.

“I am appealing to identify these two people who saw the victim in a distressed state in Hill Avenue between 10.15am and 10.30am.

“I am also appealing to anybody else who may have any information regarding this incident to contact police.
