An Olympic medallist was on hand to open a brand new Aldi store in High Wycombe on Thursday.

Olympic Bronze Medallist, Sally Walton, cut the red ribbon to officially open the new Aldi store on Tannery Road.

This is the second store to open in High Wycombe and will be run by Store Manager, Satish Sirur, along with a team of 40 colleagues from the area.

Sally gave away bags of fresh fruit and vegetables as part of Aldi’s ‘Get Set to Eat Fresh’ campaign which aims to inspire school children about the benefits of cooking fresh and healthy food.

The new store has large chillers and freezers for fresh, British meat products, a ‘Food to Go’ section at the front of the store, and a section for award-winning health and beauty products.

Store Manager, Satish Sirur, said: “It’s been a fantastic morning here at our grand opening.

“It was lovely to meet our new customers and I look forward to meeting more of the community in the coming weeks.

Team GB star, Sally Walton, added: “It’s been an honour to be a part of Aldi’s store opening.

The new store is located on Tannery Road Industrial Estate, Tannery Road, High Wycombe and is open 8am until 10pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
