Four top Bucks restaurants have been named in the 2020 Michelin star guide.

Two Tom Kerridge eateries in Marlow – The Hand and Flowers and The Coach – the Artichoke in Amersham and Three Oaks in Gerrards Cross also made it into this year’s guide.

The Hand and Flowers in West Street was the first pub to be awarded two Michelin stars, and the top chef and Marlow resident will be relieved to learn the popular restaurant has retained them for another year.

The Coach, Tom’s second restaurant venture in the town, which opened its doors further down West Street in 2014, has kept hold of its one Michelin star this year. It was a new entry in the 2018 guide.

The Artichoke in Market Square, Amersham, has appeared in the list for the first time this year – picking up one star.

Meanwhile, The Three Oaks in Austenwood Lane, Gerrards Cross, has been recognised with a Bib Gourmand, which highlights “good quality, good value” restaurants.

The Artichoke was also commended by Michelin, who said it was “pleasing” to see an increasing number of restaurants run by couples.

The Michelin Great Britain and Ireland Stars for 2020 were unveiled at a special launch event in London on October 7.

There are 187 Michelin-starred restaurants in the 2020 guide, including one new Three Star, four new Two Stars and 23 new One Stars.

Gwendal Poullennec, international director of the Michelin guides, said: “Despite the obvious challenges being faced by the industry here in the UK, we are thrilled that this has been such a stellar year, and we have seen many first ventures opening and rapidly rising to success.”

Nearby, the Hinds Head in Bray and the Crown in Burchetts Green retained their one stars, while the Crown also picked up the welcome and service award.
