A 16-year-old boy was attacked by a teenager on a moped who demanded he hand over his bag in Flackwell Heath.

The boy was making his way home on Heath End Road on Tuesday (October 8) when he was approached by a gang - one of whom was riding a moped - at around 4.10pm.

The attacker - described as a mixed race boy aged between 16 and 18 - got off the scooter and attacked the boy, ordering him to hand over his bag.

Although the boy suffered injuries to his face and jaw, members of the public intervened and the group fled empty-handed.

The teen on the moped was around 6ft tall, slim, wearing a helmet with dark goggles, a black puffer style coat, grey jogging bottoms and gloves.

Police are investigating the attack as an attempted robbery and officers are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Designated Investigator Victoria Rogers based at High Wycombe police station said: "I am appealing for witnesses to this assault.

"There were two mopeds in the group that approached the victim. One had 'L' plates and the other had two people riding it. I believe that someone may have seen this group in the area.

"I would ask that anyone who witnessed this incident, or has information that could help our investigation to come forward and call the police."
