Hazlemere Youth Centre are selling two large Christmas trees to raise money for the centre.

A local woman Penny posted on Facebook that she would donate two trees she was chopping down for the proceeds raised to go to charity.

Emma Hogen from the Youth Centre spoke to Penny and it turned out that she previously had connections with the Youth Centre.

Emma said: “We are so grateful to Penny for letting us be the charity as our Youth Centre could do with all the money we can get.”

Hazlemere Youth Centre is a registered charity run by a dedicated team of volunteers.

They host two youth clubs a week and are open regularly for a variety of activities such as gymnastics, judo, baby groups, private party hire, and they also have an onsite café.

The building is however in need of redecoration, new flooring, and new furnishings, to keep it being a safe space for local young people.

The Centre hold an annual fundraiser called ‘Kick for a Cause’ to raise money for the refurbishment as well as raising money for a second charity.

The Centre is almost halfway to meeting their target and the trees will further help them reach it.

Emma added: “We also are in need of volunteers to join us in providing a safe and vibrant youth centre where young people can grow and thrive.”
