This week the Bucks Free Press asked our readers to vote for their favourite garden centres in the county.
Whether it’s to buy a loved one a gift or look at the colourful flowers on display, the garden centre can be a good day out for the whole family.
Here’s the ones you voted as the best in Bucks:
1) Notcutts Garden Centre, Booker, High Wycombe - This newly refurbished garden centre has proved a popular location for the people of Wycombe. The centre has a huge array of flowers, garden furniture and niche gifts. One customer said: “Best garden centre in Wycombe, the restaurant is excellent too.”
2) Dobbies Garden Centre, Wendover- This large centre is well known for its quality onsite butchers and for having a magical Santa’s grotto in December. One visitor said: “It’s a large centre, with great variety and helpful staff. Prices are reasonable too.”
3) Hillier Garden Centre, Marlow - This garden centre has only been a part of the Hillier family for a few months and is currently part way through a transformation, but is known for having a great restaurant which offers breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea. They also do Christmas activities such as wreath making, so a place to definitely visit nearer the festive period for the award-winning workshop.
4) Hildreths Garden Centre, Prestwood - This family run business started over four hundred years ago in Prestwood as a blacksmith. The business has been passed down through the generations and expanded into a garden centre, with a cafe, cook shop, gift shop and hardware shop. One shopper said: “A independent nursery with lovely friendly staff who can’t help you enough.”
5) Haddenham Garden Centre, Haddenham - Yet another independent centre. Having undergone a big refurbishment project the garden centre has a modern and open interior. The cafe now has much more room, and serves hot food such as chips and soup as well as Sunday Roasts.
