A fifteen-year contract has been awarded to Everyone Active to operate leisure centres owned by Chiltern District Council, including the new Chiltern Lifestyle Centre.

From April 2020, the leisure operator, who already manages 190 leisure facilities across the country, will begin managing centres across Amersham, Chesham and Chalfont St Peter.

The council have also promised to invest £4m in both the Chalfont Leisure Centre and the Chesham Leisure Centre, which will be used to ‘refurbish and update the centres’ and to ensure ‘continued high quality facilities are available for the local community.’

Cllr Liz Walsh, Chiltern District Council Cabinet Member for Healthy Communities, said: "Following a robust procurement process, I am delighted to confirm that we have awarded the leisure centre operator contract for the next 15 years to Everyone Active.

“Working in partnership with Everyone Active, we have exciting plans for Chesham and Chalfont St Peter leisure centres and visitors will start seeing this refurbishment happening soon."

David Bibby, Everyone Active's Managing Director, said: "We are delighted to be partnering with Chiltern District Council to manage its leisure facilities. The Council clearly takes great pride in its centres and is making big steps towards creating healthier local communities.

"The Chiltern Lifestyle Centre is a very exciting project to be a part of and we look forward to enhancing the local offering with our extensive experience and innovative approach. We're excited to meet local clubs and users of the centres and build long-standing relationships within the areas."
