Local councils deal with thousands of planning applications every year.

They range from house owners wanting to build an extension to new homes, shops, businesses and even chopping down trees.

Here are some of the best projects announced from last week - the council will now consider whether each should go ahead.

1) Flat 59 Mill End Road, High Wycombe: A proposal to change the use of existing first floor to create a 2-bed flat. This will provide more accommodation near the town centre, perfect for people who work in the area and would benefit from a shorter commute into work.

2) The Carphone Warehouse, High Street, Chesham: An application for change of use to a restaurant/café. The property has been vacant since November 2018 and the developers state that the new business “will encourage development and employment within Chesham.”

3) 52 Amersham Road, Little Chalfont: A proposal for a first-floor front, side and rear extension and alterations to roof, and alterations to doors and windows. If approved this project will provide the dwelling with much more room.

4) Woodfield 4 Walkwood End Beaconsfield: An application for the existing dwelling to be demolished and the erection of a replacement dwelling with a linked double garage. This replacement property would have 5 bedrooms and a games room. A large project if approved.

5) Coram House, Sandpit Lane, Bledlow: A proposal for the erection of a 2-bed dwelling. Bledlow is a popular family area so new houses are always in demand.
