TO CELEBRATE this year’s Christmas Light Festival on Thursday, November 21, event organisers High Wycombe BID Company are giving one lucky event goer the chance to ‘win Christmas’.

The not-for-profit organisation, which represents businesses in High Wycombe town centre, has teamed up with a number of local partners to offer visitors the opportunity to win a festive prize bundle and kick-start their Christmas season in style.

The competition is free to enter and will run during this year’s Christmas Light Festival.

Toys UK, Tesco High Wycombe, RUSH Trampoline Park and R&R Estate Management are just some of the businesses who have generously donated prizes – including £130 worth of shopping vouchers, a festive toy bundle and a real Christmas tree delivered to your door.

To enter, festival–goers simply need to fill out the prize slip, which is available in this week’s edition of the Bucks Free Press, and bring it along to the HWBIDCo gazebo (located in the High Street) before 6pm on the day of the event – Thursday, November 21.

Entry is open from midday and the winner will be announced live on stage just before the official lights switch on at 6.45pm.

The ‘Win Christmas’ competition is just one of the latest details unveiled by HWBIDCo in the run-up to next Thursday’s event, with the festive cheer set to begin from 12 noon.

The event will kick off with a traditional arts & craft market in the High Street and Church Street, before the arrival of Santa with his grotto and his reindeer at 3.30pm in Frogmoor.

Later visitors will be treated to a host of street entertainment including bouncing elves and a traditional parade through the town centre at 5.30pm.

There will also be a selection of fabulous festive talent on show on the main stage in the High Street from 5pm – including a special guest performance from Peter Auty, performer of the theme song to the 1982 animated film The Snowman.

Discussing the latest details surrounding next Thursday’s event, HWBIDCo Manager Melanie Williams said: “This year’s Christmas Light Festival is set to be a fantastic highlight in our festive town calendar.

“We’re delighted to be able to share such an exciting array of live entertainment, competitions and activities with town centre visitors.

“We really hope people will take advantage of what’s on offer and join us for what promises to be an amazing event.”

Parking is free all day on November 21 in any council-run car park and from noon in Eden Shopping Centre.
