A gang of five attacked a man after he answered his front door in Chesham. 

Between 11pm and 11.30pm on November 16, five men knocked on the door of an address in Berkeley Avenue.

A man in his thirties answered the door and five men rushed in and attacked him.

The man was taken to hospital but his injuries are not life threatening and he is in a stable condition.

The attackers were all wearing dark clothing, with their faces covered.

It is believed that some of the men may have been carrying weapons.

Investigating Officer Detective Sergeant Andrew Melton of Force CID based at Aylesbury Police Station, said:  “At this stage we believe that this was an isolated and targeted incident and we do not believe there is a wider danger to the public.

“We are asking anyone who may have seen five men or any vehicles acting suspiciously in and around Berkley Avenue between 11pm and 11.30pm to please come forward.

“Additionally we would ask anyone who may have home CCTV to check their footage to see if it shows the offenders and get in touch.

“Members of the public may see an increased police presence whilst we continue to investigate, anyone with any concerns should speak to one our officers.”
