HIGH Wycombe’s mayor Cllr Maz Hussain helped officially open a new Post Office in the town this week.

Cllr Hussain cut the ribbon to declare the new Post Office open at Jaydees News, 35 Marlow Road, on Tuesday.

Postmaster Harish Patel and his wife Hetal Patel have run Jaydees News for 20 years.

It will be open for 65 hours a week - from 7.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday and Sunday from 7.30am to 12.30pm.

Cllr Hussain said: “This is great news for this area of High Wycombe.

“I want to thank Harish and Hetal Patel for deciding to take on a Post Office. Offering a service seven days a week will really benefit residents and local businesses, providing access to a wide range of Post Office services.”

Shoppers will be able to post letters and parcels, collect and return online shopping items and make cash withdrawals.

Mr Patel said: “Opening a Post Office is a great way for us to mark the 20th anniversary of running this shop.

“Customers are overjoyed with us opening a Post Office.

“It is great to see school children to pensioners all coming in for all the services that we offer including posting, pensions, banking and travel money.”
