Curtis Pritchard is starring in the Wycombe Swan’s pantomime ‘Dick Wittington’ this Christmas.

The professional ballroom dancer from Stoke-on-Trent rose to fame on the reality TV series Love Island, where he came fourth with his girlfriend Maura Higgins.

The star recently turned on High Wycombe’s Christmas lights on November 21 and took pictures with various fans.

Curtis said of High Wycombe: “It’s lovely little place and everyone’s lovely there.

“It’ll be good to spend my Christmas there.”

The panto kicks off on December 13 and Curtis can’t wait to begin rehearsals next week.

He said: “I love to perform in front of a live audience.

“I’ve done it a lot in my dancing and different tours I’ve done, and I love it because every audience is different, so you get a different reaction and different laughs on different jokes.

“It’s a complete change every single night and that’s what I love but also that is what I get nervous about because you don’t know what to expect.”

As well as Curtis and fellow Love Island contestant Tommy Fury having their own ITV show on the way, Curtis discussed what he plans to do in the future.

He said: “I’d love to go into acting when I’m older 100 per cent, maybe into films or something would be an end goal.

“But I’ve got many adventures to complete before that.”

The 23-year old also confirmed that Maura will be coming to a few shows despite her being busy with training for the show Dancing on Ice.

Of the pantomime he said: “Pantomime is great fun for the whole family, kids and adults.

“Even though some of the jokes I don’t know how they get away with.

“It’s nice and it’s warm and it gives back to everyone.

“Bring the kids out to the pantomime!”

Dick Whittington runs from December 13 to January 5 at the Wycombe Swan.
