Local councils deal with thousands of planning applications every year.

They range from house owners wanting to build an extension to new homes, shops, businesses and even chopping down trees.

Here are some of the best projects announced from last week - the council will now consider whether each should go ahead.

1) Site of Rowanlinden, 70 Long Park, Chesham Bois: A proposal for the erection of new dwelling. The proposed site is currently a garden. This new dwelling would be 3 storeys with 5 bedrooms. This includes the master bedroom which would have an en suite and dressing room.

2) Le De Spencer Arms, Downley Common, Downley: A proposal for the erection of a free-standing timber gazebo to the rear. The applicant states that the gazebo “intends to provide customers with a shelter in the public house garden, from both sunshine and inclement weather, whilst enjoying and supporting one of the important elements of the local community.”

3) The Red House, 62 School Road, Tylers Green: An application for the erection of a garden room. This garden room would adjoin the main house and maintain a similar style.

4) Muzwell Farm Barn, Moor Common, Lane End: A proposal for the conversion of existing barn to a 3-bed dwelling house with associated external alterations, detached bin store and landscaping. This new design would have a gym, garage, and terrace, with the master bedroom having its own staircase with an en suite and dressing room below.

5) Stonecrop, 3 Saxon Gardens, Taplow: An application for the demolition of existing dwelling and erection of detached dwelling and detached garage with associated car parking. The dwelling will have 4 bedrooms.
