FOUR Bucks schools have been named as some of the best schools in the south east according to the Sunday Times.
The 27th edition of Parent Power, the Sunday Times Schools Guide 2020 identifies the 2,000 highest-achieving schools in the UK, ranked by their recent examination results.
And High Wycombe’s Wycombe Abbey and Wycombe High, Dr Challoner’s High School in Little Chalfont and Dr Challoner’s Grammar School in Amersham have all been mentioned.
Wycombe Abbey was ranked the second best in the top 10 independent secondary schools in the south east, while the other schools placed in the top 10 state secondary schools in the south east. Doctor Challoner’s High School came sixth in the list, closely followed by Dr Challoner’s Grammar in seventh and Wycombe High in ninth.
Parent Power enables parents to compare the performance of a given school with other schools in the same town, local authority or nationally.
Wycombe Abbey got 97.6 per cent A*, A, 9, 8 or 7 grades at GCSE level, while the percentage of A* to Bs at A-Level was 95.2.
Dr Challoner’s High pupils got 78.2 per cent A*, A, 9, 8 or 7 grades at GCSE and 82.9 per cent got A-Levels at A* to
B.
Dr Challoner’s Grammar was 70.1 per cent and 84.1 per cent respectively, while Wycombe High pupils got 74.1 per cent and 78 per cent.
