Amersham’s TSB will be closing in 2020 due to a new three-year strategic plan to reshape the business.

TSB announced the launch of a three-year strategic plan to reshape its business model so that it can become a more technology-enabled and innovative business.

The bank intends to simplify the way it interacts with customers through its branch network.

TSB published the list today (28 November) of the twelve branches which will be closing in the South East Region during 2020.

The TSB in Amersham on Sycamore Road will shut next year in June.

Full details will be provided to any customers impacted in due course and branch partners will be on hand to help customers with their day to day banking arrangements.

The Amersham branch is one of the 12 shutting in the South East Region.

This comes as more people are turning to online banking instead of physically going to banks themselves.

TSB has seen branch transactions drop by 17% and therefor nearly half of TSB’s branches run at a loss.

Robin Bulloch, Customer Banking Director at TSB, said: “We have made the difficult decision to close some of our quieter branches and will fully support customers through this transition.

“We realise this is difficult news for our branch partners and will do everything to support those affected to redeploy as many people as we can to other roles and keep compulsory redundancies to a minimum.”
