There are reports of the charging bays at the Princes Risborough Tesco being misused and the screen of the Pod Point is already damaged.

The Tesco in Princes Risborough has recently had a charging pod installed for electric vehicles with four parking spots specifically allocated for this.

Many people are now actively trying to decrease their carbon footprint and electrical vehicles are being used more often with many places installing charging points.

The Pod Points screen at the carpark in Princes Risborough has already been damaged and there have also been reports of cars being parked in the bays which are allocated to electric cars which aren’t electric.

One Risborough resident said: “There’s been a few times I’ve seen cars that aren’t electric parking in the bays.

“The smashed screen has confused a few people whether the charging bays are working or not.”

Another resident added: “It’s such a shame people park there.

“Electric Cars will be necessary in the future and we need to accept that they will need charging and should welcome change instead of fighting it.”

Tesco has issued a statement, they said: “We’re pleased to offer customers in Princes Risborough the opportunity to charge their electric vehicles while they shop.

“The screen of one of our 4 Pod Point charging bays was accidentally damaged, but all units are working as normal.”

They also state that they’re not aware of any misuse but do remind customers that the charging bays are only for use by electric vehicles.
