'Dangerous' High Wycombe man who drove backwards at speed up narrow road after refusing to stop for police is jailed

Mohammed Surfraz, 41, from High Wycombe, has been sent to prison for three years and four months after three separate incidents in the town between July 4 and August 2 this year.

On July 4, at around 8.20pm, Surfraz was seen driving a vehicle on Brecon Way.

He did not stop when told to by officers and drove backwards, at speed, up a narrow street.

He then ran from the vehicle and was later arrested for dangerous driving.

When he was arrested, he was found in possession of drugs.

On July 27, he was found to have drugs, cash and phones in Hithercroft Road.

Finally, on August 2 this year, Surfraz was arrested in Green Street after being found in possession of controlled substances.

Surfraz, of Shrimpton Road, pleaded guilty to three counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs, one count of dangerous driving and one count off failing to provide a sample of blood for analysis at Aylesbury Crown Court on Wednesday November 27.

He was jailed for three years and four months.

Investigating officer PC Rachel Miller based at High Wycombe police station, said Surfraz being sent to jail will have "significant impact on an established drugs line" in the town.

She said: “Surfraz showed little regard for the public driving dangerously and regularly dealing drugs to vulnerable people.

“Drugs are a key driver behind serious crimes such as burglary and robbery. They cause misery for the users and their family and Surfraz was part of a network aiming to take advantage of these people.

“Targeted, intelligence led policing and positive use of stop and search has led to a dangerous man being sentenced to a considerable prison sentence.

“This has caused significant disruption to the network he is involved with.

“Thames Valley Police, through the Stronghold Campaign are committed to protecting the vulnerable and targeting those who wish to exploit them for financial gain.”
