A nursery in Chalfont St Peter is hoping to go online following a generous donation.

Lovel End nursery received almost £1000 from North London housebuilder Persimmon Homes.

The community-run nursery provides care for pre-schoolers in the area and this donation will help them go online.

Debbie Thompson, who applied for the funding on behalf of Lovel End Nursery, said: “The news of the donation is fantastic.

“Moving online will be great for the nursery. It will allow staff to spend more time interacting with the children and less time filling in paperwork.

“It will also allow us to engage the children in their development and learning using ICT.

“We are very thankful to Persimmon Homes North London for its support.”

The nursery received the donation through its Community Champions initiative, which sees two local groups or individuals receive a match funded donation of up to £1,000.

Rachel Faulkner, sales director for Persimmon Homes North London, said: “We are delighted to support Lovel End Nursery.

“The idea to move online will be very beneficial for everyone.

“If people were unsuccessful last month, we urge them to visit the Persimmon Homes website and to try again and hopefully they will become our next Community Champion.”
