Local councils deal with thousands of planning applications every year.
They range from house owners wanting to build an extension to new homes, shops, businesses and even chopping down trees.
Here are some of the best projects announced from last week - the council will now consider whether each should go ahead.
1) Beech Dell, 5 The Woodlands, Hazlemere: A proposal for the erection of detached two storey dwelling & attached garage, creation of new access and associated parking. This will be a four bed property.
2) Land Adjacent To 2 The Coach House, New Road, Princes Risborough: The application for the erection of new two storey detached, two bedroomed dwelling.
3) Tall Firs, Blackwell Hall Lane, Ley Hill: A proposal for a four bed replacement dwelling.
4) Piebalds, Burkes Road, Beaconsfield: An application for a replacement dwelling with indoor pool and attached garage with ancillary accommodation above.

5) Oakwood House, 113 Camp Road, Gerrards Cross: A proposal for the demolition of existing and erection of new dwelling.
