FAMILIES got into the festive spirit with a day of seasonal fun and entertainment at Bucks New University’s Winterland on Saturday in High Wycombe.
The free event, which is organised entirely by students, entertained visitors to the Queen Alexandra Road campus on December 7 from 10am to 5pm.
Attractions ranged from fairground rides including chairoplanes, a ferris wheel and a carousel, a Christmas raffle, indoor inflatables, a Frozen fancy dress competition for all ages; and the opportunity to meet Santa in his grotto.
A stage featured entertainment from Chiltern Academy School of Performing Arts in Prestwood, singer-songwriter Alice Dudley, the bands Banned from Sainsbury’s and Muddy Duck, and Swedish-born, London-based singer-songwriter KLARA.
Thames Valley Police and Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue were also on hand to greet visitors on the day, and the raffle included prizes from Hughenden Manor, Wycombe Swan Theatre, and Odds Farm Park in Wooburn Green.
BA (Hons) Events, Festivals and Venue Management and BA (Hons) Music Business students at the university organised the event as part of their degrees.
