All eyes were on birthday girl Vera Denning as she strolled into her surprise 100th party - organised by her friends at the High Wycombe sheltered scheme where she lives.
Vera, who turned 100 on Thursday, December 5, has been a resident at Parsonage Close, owned by the Red Kite Community Housing, for 18 years.
Entertainment was provided by pupils from Hamilton Academy’s choir who sang a selection of carefully picked songs.
Kevin Eckley, sheltered services manager at Red Kite, presented Vera with a cake and bouquet of flowers to help mark the occasion. He said: “Vera is a popular and much-loved resident of ours. The surprise party was a great opportunity for us, and fellow residents, to celebrate such a remarkable milestone with Vera and we wish her a wonderful birthday.”
Vera proudly showed off her birthday card from the Queen and when asked what her secret is to a long and happy life, she chuckled: “Enjoy life and be happy.”
