A resident in Prestwood has been struggling to leave his house due to bad flooding outside his home on the Wycombe Road.

The images show the large amounts of water built up on the road and how cars going past cause the water to splash on to the driveway.

The water is also building up on the driveway, leading the resident, Darren, to worry about potential damp in his home.

Darren explained how it’s becoming difficult to leave his house and get too close to the road as vehicles driving by cause the water to splash towards the house, previously leaving guests 'soaked'.

He's struggling to even walk his dog due to the issue and the cars causing it to splash would get him wet.

Darren has tried to talk to the council but says “nothing has been done.”

He added: “enough is enough, it [the road] shouldn’t be like that.”

In response to the pictures and videos, Transport for Bucks said: “TfB are working hard with finite resources to alleviate a number of locations where standing water is evidence following further heavy rainfall over the weekend, adding to already saturated land.

“The majority of issues encountered relate to drainage capacity during heavy rainfall rather than any specific fault within drainage systems.

“In relation to this particular matter, drainage systems were confirmed to be operating effectively during the last maintenance visit earlier in 2019.

“We do however understand that drainage is inhibited by recent build-up of detritus further downstream and are working collaboratively with landowners to resolve this matter.”
