A High Wycombe flat has been completely shut down for three months amid ongoing anti-social behaviour.

The home in McLellan Place, off Chairborough Road, has been hit with a closure order - meaning only Red Kite, which owns the home, or the police can go inside it.

Red Kite is launching legal action to repossess the home and all the windows and doors have been fitted with screens to make sure no one can get in.

The housing association and Thames Valley Police have been working together to collect evidence of anti-social behaviour, which was presented to Wycombe Magistrates' Court on Monday, December 16.

The court granted the three-month closure order.

Janine Healy, senior anti-social behaviour specialist at Red Kite, said: “Anti-social behaviour is not tolerated within Red Kite and together with the police, robust action will be taken against the perpetrator to ensure the safety of our communities.”

The closure order comes amid complaints from residents living at another nearby Red Kite complex.

One upset resident living in a flat in Shaftsbury Street said she wanted to leave the area and move down south because of anti-social behaviour and drugs.

Another resident, living in nearby Mahoney Court, said she regularly sees drug-taking in the stairwells and has had eggs thrown at her windows.

Red Kite reassured residents that they are “focusing their efforts” on the area in a bid to reduce anti-social behaviour and said that the majority of people causing problems in the area do not live there.

They have urged anyone witnessing anti-social behaviour to report it to Red Kite and tell Thames Valley Police about any criminal activity they see.
