Amersham hospital could be turned into a housing development in new plans.
Documents for the local plan have been revealed and Amersham Hospital could potentially become a development of 172 houses in the future.
The Chiltern and South Bucks District Council said: “Since 2015, there have been two ‘call for sites’ exercises where we asked people to identify sites within Chiltern and South Bucks that may have the potential for development over the Local Plan period, up to 2036.

“Sites that were put forward were assessed for their potential for contributing towards Chiltern and South Bucks' future needs for housing.
“The site at Amersham Hospital was submitted to us for assessment by the land owner.
"It was submitted to us purely as a ‘marker’ that at some point in the future there might possibly be some form of development on the site.
"Development would potentially take place at some point in 11 years or more time.
"The next stage will be examination hearing sessions which are due to commence early in 2020 although the final dates will be confirmed by the planning inspectors.”
The site is included in the local plan but it doesn't mean it will definitely be developed and more consultations will have to take place.
