Marlow Town Council is seeking tenders from suitably qualified companies for the provision of Christmas Lights in Marlow town centre.

There are two lots; the first is for replacing the infrastructure and the second lot is for the installation, maintenance, removal and storage of Christmas lights for Marlow.

A spokesperson from Marlow Town Council said: "The agreement we had with our current contractors expired this year as we had been with them for five years, so we're hoping to find some new ones soon.

"The Christmas light switch-on is something that is planned throughout the year as there are a lot of legal things to do, such as safety checks in terms of infrastructure and electrics, and all of that isn't going to be done at Christmas.

"All the towns and cities will have their switch-ons happen at around the same time, so this is something that needs to be planned throughout the year."

The supplier, when chosen, will also be required to attend the town switch-on event in late November every year.

The contractor will need to have proven and demonstrated experience in similar projects.

The spokesman continued: "It takes a very long time to organise but we're hopeful of getting a new contractor in by the spring."
