An e-fit has been released of a woman that the Police would like to speak to following a distraction burglary in Amersham.

On Monday (January 13) a woman was let into an elderly ladies property after claiming to be from British Gas.

The victim, who was in her eighties, had a fall whilst the woman was in her property. The woman helped her up and left the property.

Although nothing was stolen, the victim contacted British Gas who confirmed that no one had been sent to her property to check the meter.

The woman is aged in her forties or fifties, spoke with a local accent as was wearing black clothing.

Investigating Officer, Detective Constable Emma Calow, based at Amersham police station said: "I am releasing this e-fit and appealing for any witnesses who may have seen a woman matching this description in the area at the time, or anyone who had a similar visit from this woman to get in touch.
