A brand-new festival will be hitting the streets of Marlow, as the town’s inaugural Business Festival will take place in March.

The four-day event (which will last from March 26 to March 29), will see businesses across the town get together to liaise with each other to form partnerships, stronger relationships and increase business, whilst encouraging members of the public to support their brand.

The festival has been organised by the Marlow & District Chamber of Commerce.

Lesley James, who is the president of the MDCoC said: “We all know about the High Street but there is such a big community of people who work for businesses and businesses that employ people, and it would be really nice for people to get talking to one another in a more community, spirited way.

“This is the first festival of its kind in Marlow and what I think we’re trying to do is, is get businesses (both big and small, independent or national) within the Marlow community to get involved with each other so that they can understand and appreciate what Marlow has.

“I don’t think it will be the biggest thing you’ll ever see as we’re still testing the waters this year to see how it goes, but I hope this will be one of those things that will grow as years go by.”

During the four-day festival, Thursday and Friday will see businesses in Marlow and the surrounding areas talk to each other and find out who is out there in the town, which could lead to possible partnerships.

On Saturday, there will be a scavenger hunt for adults and children to take part in, whilst on Sunday, there will be a party and an award ceremony to celebrate the first festival of its kind in the town.

Lesley added: “We’re hopeful that the festival will be something to celebrate as we want as many businesses to take part.

“And hopefully we’ll have something fringy on Saturday evening as well as other events over the weekend for people to enjoy.”

More events for the festival will be announced in due course.
