A new bar will be opening in Princes Risborough on the High Street where NatWest bank used to operate.

Princes Risborough Town Council has completed the first stage of its High Street improvement plan by concluding negotiations of their commercial premises for a 10-year lease to Craftyard a well-known local gin and craft beer bar.

The site, 39 High street, a former NatWest bank, was acquired by the Town Council and has recently undergone some basic refurbishment work to modernise the property including the installation of new shop front and minor internal alterations.

Owners of Craftyard, Darrell Peter and Sarah Cook opened their first site in Tring in 2017 and their second site in Aylesbury in 2018, are expected to open the doors to the Risborough site in May 2020.

Chairman and mayor of PRTC Cllr Matthew Walsh said: “The night-time economy in Risborough is one that the Council felt could be enhanced, and we are thrilled to have a local family run and established independent business such as Craftyard join us.”
