COUNCILS and organisations across Bucks will get together to look at the future of the county’s market towns and high streets.

Chiltern and South Bucks, Aylesbury Vale and Wycombe District Councils, in conjunction with Bucks County Council, Buckinghamshire Local Enterprise Partnership and Buckinghamshire Business First, are holding a conference on February 11 to explore the challenges and opportunities facing towns.

The free event will bring together retail and commercial experts with business owners to share insight and experience, with a focus on how technology, culture and locally-led approaches are influencing the success of the high streets.

Cllr John Read, deputy leader of south bucks district council and cabinet member for planning and economic development, said: “A thriving local economy is beneficial for everyone, and our high streets are at the heart of it.“There are many factors which affect high streets, from local issues to wider cultural and technological changes across society. This conference will bring people together from across the High Street to share knowledge, experience and ideas, to help Buckinghamshire’s High Streets thrive.”

The event will take place from 12pm – 5.30pm on Tuesday, February 11, at The Ballroom, Pinewood Studios, Pinewood Road, Iver Heath, and will feature a range of speakers and panel discussions. To register to attend, email econdev@chilternandsouthbucks.gov.uk or call 01494 732171.
