Unsightly hoardings surrounding a High Wycombe town centre building site have been given an eye-catching makeover by a talented artist.

The old Ottakar's book store at 26-28 White Hart Street is undergoing a major revamp after it was bought by Wycombe District Council early last year.

The building - which had fallen into disrepair when it was owned by an offshore absentee landlord - will eventually be turned into either one or two ground floor café units, with a single office space on the floor above.

But while the work is going on, the site is surrounded by hoardings and scaffolding - so talented High Wycombe artist Dan Wilson has given it a new lease of life.

Shoppers in the town centre may have seen Dan busy working away on his newest artwork - which features a historic scene with a horse and cart and a colourful background.

The artwork was created in partnership with HWBIDCo.

They said: "To help celebrate the new month, we’ve made a start on some of our 2020 spring dressing projects. Including this amazing mural which we’ve put together with local artist Dan Wilson to help add a splash of colour to White Hart Street."

Dan's artwork is well known around High Wycombe - he created the stunning Brunel Engine Shed mural near the railway station, the Red Lion mural in the underpass near Bucks New University and gave some High Wycombe Rugby Club storage containers on Kingsmead a bright makeover, to name a few.
