A builder has been fined over £5,700 after fly tipped waste was found in Iver.
The waste, which was discovered on December 12, 208, was dumped on Bellswood Lane after being removed from a construction site in South London,
Tomas Zebrauskas, a builder trading as T and Gee Construction Limited, admitted in court that he’d paid an ‘opportunistic operator’ to remove and dispose of the waste from the site his company had been working on.
He admitted that he had not checked if the individual was registered with the Environment Agency as an authorised waste carrier, and had completed no paperwork.
In total, Mr Zebrauskas was fined £5,742.
South Bucks District Council Cabinet Member for Environment Luisa Sullivan, speaking on behalf of the Waste Partnership for Buckinghamshire, said: "The level of fine and costs imposed by the court in this instance highlights the seriousness of this kind of case.
“We will only be able to tackle the problem of commercial fly tipping when the building trade takes the matter seriously and refuses to pay opportunistic criminals to take their waste away."
