A man has been arrested after a crash left a van driver seriously injured. 

At around 4.10pm on Tuesday (February 12) a blue VW Golf crashed into a white VW Crafter van and a man in his forties on Desborough Park Road - close to the junction of Abercrombie Avenue. 

The man was rushed to the John Radcliffe major trauma centre with serious leg injuries. 

South Central Ambulance Service sent an ambulance and the Thames Valley Air Ambulance critical care car to the scene and following initial treatment, the man was then taken to hospital. 

A 21-year-old man from High Wycombe has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the limit. 

He has been released under investigation. 

Investigating officer, PC Richard Martin, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit said: “I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this collision to please come forward.

“I would also ask anyone who has any CCTV or dash-cam footage from the area around the time of the incident to check any footage in case it may have captured something that could assist with the investigation.
