An 18-year-old man was stabbed in the leg while being assaulted by a gang of men in Shackleton Road, Slough on Friday afternoon.

The attack happened at about 4.45pm. His injuries were minor and he was released after being treated in hospital.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Jessica Lawson of Force CID based at Slough, said: “We are carrying out an investigation and at this stage we believe that the victim and the offenders were known to each other.

“We are asking anyone with information to please come forward and contact us.”

The incident is bound to make hearts sink, happening as it did in a residential road.

It follows a series of knife attacks that have left people dead in the borough over the past year - often carried out by teenage boys.

More than 1,000 people packed the Jamia Masjid Islamic Centre in Stoke Poges Lane, Slough recently for the funeral of 18-year-old stabbing victim Mohammed Aman Ashraq.

They heard Iman Doctor Osman Latiff deliver a powerful address calling on young people to lead the way and deploring 'this horrendous fixation with knife culture, with gang culture'.

Anyone with information about Friday's attack should call 101 quoting reference 941 21/02/20.
