UPDATE: Latest updates at hospital unit forced to close amid coronavirus fears

A major unit at Wycombe Hospital was forced to shut earlier today due to a 'safeguarding incident'.

The Urgent Treatment Centre at Wycombe Hospital closed suddenly on February 25 with authorities saying it is a temporary move.

A spokesperson at the hospital said it was due to a 'safeguarding incident' and said they hope to reopen 'at some point today'.

It is not clear what has prompted the closure and it has not yet been linked to coronavirus.

In a statement released at 5pm, the Trust confirmed it was a temporarily close as a precautionary measure for 'infection control reasons'.
