A Gerrards Cross school has been recognized for it’s continual support for the Poppy Appeal.

Maltman’s Green School, a preparatory school for girls aged 2-11, was praised by the Royal British Legion’s Head of the Poppy Appeal Shane Crowhurst for their dedication over the years to the charity.

Girls at the school welcomed Major General Tim Inshaw into the school on Monday to present the certificate and give a speech to the students on behalf of the Poppy Appeal.

The school was presented with a framed ‘certificate of appreciation for the excellent work carried out in support of the Poppy Appeal.’

A spokesperson from the school said: “Maltman’s Green School supports many different charities, fundraising through harvest donations, dress-up days, school fairs and more.

“It was wonderful for the girls to receive appreciation from the Royal British Legion for their hard work in driving the fundraising efforts around school during the Poppy Appeal.

“Representatives from Maltman’s Green also attend the annual Gerrards Cross Remembrance Day service in November, laying a wreath on behalf of the School.

“The School thanks the Royal British Legion for this wonderful accolade and look forward to finding the perfect spot to display their prized certificate.”
