Michelin star chef Atul Kochhar will have another restaurant in Marlow.

The 50-year-old, who also owns the Sindhu at the Compleat Angler, will see his new eatery replace the town’s former Italian restaurant the Villa D’este, which closed in September.

The sale was done through Christie and Co agency.

A spokesperson from the agency said: “Due to its strong location in Marlow, we received a good amount of interest from a range of operators.

“We are thrilled that it was taken on by a well-known restaurateur such as Atul, who will no doubt thrive with his new venture.

Fabio Terrinoni, who used to own the Villa D’Este said: “It has been a pleasure operating in Marlow for so long, as we were always well supported by the local community who seem to have a real passion for dining.

"We wish the new owner Atul every success with his new restaurant.”

Mr Terrinoni decided to sell the business to focus on his other restaurant which is in Henley.

The official opening date for the new restaurant is to be announced in due course.

Kochhar, who became the first Indian to achieve a Michelin star, also owns Hawkyns in Amersham.
