SHROPSHIRE firefighters spent around two-and-a-half hours battling a blaze in a property in Cornovii Gardens in Oswestry on Saturday night.

Three crews from Oswestry and Wellington were sent to the fire at around 10.20pm after reports of a property on fire.

Firefighters found a cavity wall on fire and used two hose reel jets and small gear to extinguish it, while using thermal imaging cameras to check for any further heat.

They were joined by the British Red Cross Fire and Emergency Support Service (FESS), and an operations officer also.

They left the scene at 12.45am.
