CONCERNED residents can call a new community response call centre if needing support during the coronavirus outbreak.
The Slough Borough Council and Slough Council for Voluntary Service partnership, One Slough, has opened a new call centre for those most vulnerable during the pandemic.
Residents who are isolated, lonely and over 70 years old or have underlying health conditions can call if in need of essential items such as food supplies.

The number to contact is 01753 944198 which is open from Monday – Friday from 9:00am – 4:00pm and at the weekend from 10:00am – 3:00pm.

Ketan Gandhi, head of wellbeing and community at Slough Borough Council, said: “We are working with Slough Council for Voluntary Service (SCVS), the local voluntary sector and businesses to provide a co-ordinated approach to ensure that we provide essential services to people who need it.”

Ramesh Kukar, chief executive of SCVS, said: “We have extended our wellbeing service and it is thanks to volunteers, such as Lesley Michaelis from Home-Start Slough and council staff led by Kam Bhatti, that we have managed to coordinate our efforts and bring this service to Slough residents.”
