Flats had to be evacuated and shops and a petrol station have been forced to shut in High Wycombe today after a gas main leaked.
A 100-metre cordon had to be put in place by fire crews on Desborough Avenue, at the junction with Marlow Road, just before midday.
Road closures had to be put in place and residents living in the flats close by had to be evacuated as a "safety precaution".
The Shell petrol station at the junction was also forced to close, as were nearby shops.
Other residents living in the area have been urged to keep their doors and windows shut while Cadent gas engineers work at the site.
Transport for Bucks and Cadent have been approached for more information about the incident.
