For Then and Now this week, we are in High Wycombe looking at some busy town centre shopping streets.
This first picture, from September 1887, shows the front of the building known as The Hen and Chickens in Queens Square.
The building now houses a Polish supermarket. It is the building opposite Treatz and the Sue Ryder charity shop.

This second picture, from 1890, is looking east towards All Saints Parish Church from Queens Square.
It shows how Church Street, which now has shops like Primark and the Chilterns Shopping Centre in it, used to look.
