The Rotary Club of Marlow has confirmed they have donated over £12,000 to several charities and good causes across the town and beyond.

In total, cheques totalling £12,500 have been spread across seven charities in the area, with those organisations being the Wycombe Homeless Connection, the Wycombe Women’s Aid, the One Can Trust, Rennie Grove Hospice Care, the Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice, the South Bucks Hospice and Making Marlow Dementia Friendly.

The Wycombe Homeless Connection, the Wycombe Women’s Aid, the One Can Trust received £3,000 each whilst Rennie Grove Hospice Care, the Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice, the South Bucks Hospice each got £1,000 with Making Marlow Dementia Friendly getting £500.

Lance Slater, who is a member of the club said: “The Rotary Club of Marlow has been considering ways to help further the local community during these very difficult times caused by the Coronavirus pandemic, as many local charities urgently need more resources to carry on with their activities and to specifically help others under extra pressure due to the current crisis.

“As always, all the members of the Rotary Club of Marlow are putting the worldwide rotary international motto of ‘service above self’ to work for the benefit of people in need both in the immediate greater Marlow area and overseas.

“At recent Marlow Rotary Club Zoom meetings, several of which have been taking place each week since the lockdown, it has been decided to donate as much as possible of club funds to a number of local charities to put the money to work now to help them at this time of extreme need.”
