Last week, one of our ‘Then and Now’ photos mentioned the Palace Cinema on Frogmoor, High Wycombe - so this week, we have decided to look closer at the entertainment that used to be on offer to visitors to High Wycombe.

This first photo, taken late 1959, shows the former Intimate Theatre, Temple End, just after it had closed down.

Now known as The Clock House, it has had various uses over the years, including a swimming pool and ice rink, offices, and student accommodation.

This second photo, taken in Oxford Street, High Wycombe, in October 1953 and looking south west, shows the Kings Head pub and the Rex Cinema. They are both shops now.
