Tributes have been paid to a Stoke Mandeville nurse who has died after testing positive for Covid-19.

Jun Terre, 52, passed away yesterday (May 14).

He worked on Ward 7 at the hospital, as part of their nursing team.

Buckinghamshire Healthcare Trust has today paid tribute to the "quiet and kind" nurse, sending their condolences to his wife, who also works for the Trust.

In a statement, they said: "Jun will be sorely missed by his colleagues, particularly those on Ward 7 at Stoke Mandeville where he worked as one of our amazing healthcare assistants."

Neil Macdonald, Chief Executive said, "I am so sorry to have to share such sad news today. This tragic loss of a valued member of our team has affected us all greatly.

"Jun was described by his team as a gracious, quiet and kind gentleman with a smile that would light up a room.

"He was loved by everyone and he looked after his patients with great care and compassion.

“I am especially grateful for the care given to Jun by our ICU team.

"He was being looked after by people who have worked with and knew him personally; I know they feel this loss deeply as do his friends and colleagues throughout the Trust."
