Following on from our exclusive interview with Ricki's in Beaconsfield, we now move our attention onto another newsagent that is helping their community fight against coronavirus.

This is part of a new feature here at the Bucks Free Press, where we talk to newsagents as the demand from customers for essentials - including newspapers like this one - have increased due to many supermarkets offering limited items.

And this week, it is the turn of CJ Stores on the Oxford Road in Stokenchurch.

The newsagent has been essential to those nearby as they have helped the elderly and vulnerable during this health crisis.

And Suthan Tharu, who works at the shop, praised the customers who have been very loyal to the CJ Stores, despite the customers having the opportunity to shop at bigger stores.

He exclusively told the BFP: “For us it’s been relatively normal as we have had our opening hours stay the same despite of what is going on and the customers have been very helpful and friendly.

“They have listened to the two-metre distance guidelines and have very been thankful for the work we are doing.

And despite a reduce in stock due to the current pandemic, the shopkeeper is trying his best to keep his loyal customers happy with the supplies CJ Stores currently offer.

He continued: “It is very hard for us to get everything at the moment because of what is going on but at the same time, we are going through a lot of different things which is good for the customers.

“It’s very hard to work out what could happen in the future but we’re still doing our bit which is to help people who need and want it.

“We are so thankful and helpful to all our customers who have come in and have spoken to use and have showed us support during these times.

“They have been coming to us for a long and we’re very grateful for all their help.”
