A new community centre has been refused permission in Little Chalfont.

Little Chalfont Parish Council regrets to announce that the appeal, against the planning decision not to allow the building of a new community centre, failed.

The appeal was first lodged in May 2019 but the original inspector resigned his post without completing his brief.

A new inspector was appointed in February 2020 and his decision was received on June 4.

The inspector has placed much emphasis on the value of the green belt and ancient woodland in deciding to dismiss the appeal.

Then Parish Council said: "Limited costs have been awarded to the parish council as he has not upheld one of the reasons for refusal i.e. parking and highway matters.

"The parish council will now decide how to proceed and will be discussing this at the next virtual council meeting on June 24."
