A man was stabbed in High Wycombe on Friday.

The man, in his twenties, was stabbed in the upper body in Rutland Avenue and was rushed to hospital but he has seen been released.

It happened at around 8.15am on Friday, June 26.

A 19-year-old man from High Wycombe has been arrested and bailed in connection with the stabbing.

Police want to hear from anyone who saw what happened, have any information or dash-cam footage.

Investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Steve Fox, based at High Wycombe police station said: “I am appealing for any witnesses to this incident, or anyone who has any information to please come forward.

“Further, if any motorists were in the local area around the time of this incident, I would urge them to check any dash-cam footage in case it may have captured something that could assist with the investigation.

“I would also like to thank the local community for their patience whilst officers were in the area making enquiries and reassure residents that we believe this incident to be isolated, and that there is not a wider threat to the general public."

This latest incident is one in a long line of stabbings in the town in recent months. 

On June 16, a man was stabbed in the shoulder and elbow in Chairborough Road amid reports of a fight. 

A High Wycombe man was charged in connection with that stabbing. 

A 17-year-old boy was stabbed in Hawthorne Road at around 6.30pm on May 5. 

On March 22, a fight broke out between people in two different cars at the junction of Abercromby Avenue and Desborough Park Road which saw one person stabbed and another suffer head injuries.  

Days before that on March 18, there was a fight in Spearing Road, Castlefield, which saw a man rushed to hospital with stab injuries and a 55-year-old man arrested. 

There was also a stabbing outside the town, in North Drive, Holtspur, on May 21.
