Raising money for good causes is not always easy during lockdown.
But members of Langley and Iver Rotary Club found that a members' 50k cycle ride round Slough was the perfect fundraising activity, enabling members to gather sponsorship for a group activity while staying safely socially distanced.
Some of the members had never cycled that far before but together they managed to raise £2,000 for the Thames Valley Adventure Playground in Bath Road, Taplow which caters for children and adults with special needs.
President of the Rotary Club Meenakshi Westhead said: "Many people are experiencing difficult times during lockdown so it’s great to be able to support a charity which provides for the needs of local families."
The club has recently raised more than £10,000 for other charities including Slough Foodbank, Slough Homeless Our Concern (SHOC) and Thames Hospice.
