A TAXI car that was set ablaze last week has urged police to carry out an investigation.

The car, a taxi for Green Metro Cars, was found on the Saturday morning, July 4, with burn marks to the front of the car, Parked on Shinfield Rise, Reading.

A spokesman for Green Metro Cars said: "Our vehicle was parked at Shinfield Rise, Reading, on the morning of Saturday, July 4, and was vandalised sometime in the early morning. We don't have any evidence or witnesses.

"The matter has been reported to Police but if anyone is a witness or has any information regarding this crime please call on 0118 966 6656."

Police later confirmed the incident occurred and that an investigation into the incident of arson was ongiong.

A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: "We are carrying out an investigation following an arson of car which was parked on Shinfield Road.

"The incident happened at around 23.40pm on July 3.

"Enquiries are ongoing and no arrests have been made.

"We would ask anyone with information to please report online or via 101 quoting reference 43200201166."
