One happy visitor wrote: "I took my mother to Hartwell House for her 89th birthday. A delightful lunch. Beautiful surroundings and treated like royalty. Food was delicious and wonderfully presented. Highly recommended for a special occasion."

One reviewer wrote: "Such a wonderful place to visit for special occasion. We decided to go for it and book an overnight stay for my Fiancé’s birthday which also ended up being our baby moon due to lockdown.

"And despite the current situation we didn’t regret it for a second. Felt very safe and looked after the staff are great and nothing was too much trouble.

"We will most definitely be revisiting once baby has arrived and will be sure to be making the most of the spa once reopened.

"The dining room is fabulous what a view! And the food was exceptional. We ordered our breakfast to the room it was faultless and the bed and so comfortable we didn’t want to come home!"

"Very clean, free breakfast, free Wi-Fi, free parking, really friendly staff, quiet area. Slept well.

"We booked three double rooms, all of us said we would stay again. Breakfast was perfect, toast, egg, bacon, sausages, juices, fruit, yoghurt, cereals, pastries.

"Had nothing to complain about. Great value."
