Wycombe manager Gareth Ainsworth was given a hero’s welcome after he guided the Chairboys to the Championship on Monday evening.

The 47-year-old, who has been in charge of the club since 2012, opened his front door to see many people from his neighbourhood give him a round of applause after he guided Wanderers to a 2-1 victory over Oxford United to secure a place in the division next season.

It will be the first time that the Adams Park club will play football at this level in their 135-year history.
